Hardware Strategy Conference#1

In 2019, we launched a hardware strategy development project. Many participants were involved: the AIMA itself, more than 40 hardware companies, the BEROC research center, the Cluster Competitiveness Group with the support of The World Bank, the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Association, Belarusian universities, government agencies and many others.

For two years, large-scale work was carried out, which included a series of round tables - thematic public meetings among representatives of the hardware business, government agencies, universities, etc., questionnaires and surveys of instrument-making companies.

On March 26, 2021, at the Willing Hotel, we held the first Hardware Strategy Conference for the Belarusian hardware community, where we shared some of the results of our joint work and started a discussion.

The HWSC#1 was aimed to create a common information field, expand personal acquaintances, formulate questions and tasks that the Hardware cluster faces. The purpose of joint strategic work is to increase competitiveness and, as a result, increase the revenue and profits of the Belarusian companies.

Mrs. Lyudmila Antonovskaya at the HWSC#1

We shared some of the main results of the hardware study during the first session of the HWSC#1.

Mr. Rodion Morozov, the BEROC Senior Researcher, and Mrs. Lyudmila Antonovskaya, the Leader and one of the AIMA founders, speakers of the first session, spoke about the main data obtained during the study.

In their presentations, the speakers used both official statistics and unique data that were obtained during the questionnaire and survey of HW companies. In total, this study processed different indicators and various types of data from around 150 HW companies. In fact, today it is a unique database of HW companies in Belarus. About 40 companies took part in the questionnaire and survey at all, which helped to obtain the exceptional data.

During the second session, we tried to give answers to questions and propose solutions to the problems that were voiced in the course of our study.

Mrs. Anna Naumovich, AIMA Director, spoke about the AIMA activities, as well as about unique digital platforms developed on the basis of the AIMA’s website (HR databases, Outsourcing database, supplier databases, rental equipment databases, etc.).

Mr. Vladimir Davidovich, the Minsk City Technopark Director, also joined the discussion and shared the benefits of the residence in the Technopark.
